Economically priced historic footwear from Foxblade Trading

This quality range of boots and shoes are ideal for historic re-enactment, TV, film, theatre, LARP or just because you want some thing different.

The shoes and boots below are part hand and part machine made. This enables us to offer quality footwear at a reasonable cost. All designs have all been researched and are based either on contemporary examples or pictures. Only quality leather is used in both the uppers and soles of our footwear. All shoes and boots are made in handed pairs rather than straight lasted. We offer full sizes only. We are always increasing our range to offer more variety please let us know if you have any specific requirements.

If you are looking for bespoke completely hand made footwear, or leatherwork of any type please look at the main site (please note this site is being updated) or contact me by either phone or email, details are at the bottom of the page. Please note the new Facebook page details below.

Latest news 10.6.14

Now in stock the new B18 Viking/Saxon single toggle turn shoe and the B18A single toggle shoe with hard sole. As always these are based on actual finds (in the is case the York shoes) and with re-enactment in mind.

We also have stock in brown or black of the S9 17th/18th century women's shoes. These are timber heeled as the originals were, there are two types; the S9L for those who want to use laces and the S9AL for those who prefer to use buckles. These new designs have thicker soles as requested by those who do a lot of outside re-enactment or theatre however the price remains the same.

All of these new shoes and boots are my design based on original finds or contemporary illustrations.

Back in stock the B17 medieval cuff boots, the B16 medieval triple buckle boots, S1A 17th century latchets, S3A late 17th/early 18th century buckle shoes and the popular B3 medieval boots.

We believe we have the largest historical footwear stock in the UK.

I offer a try before you buy policy to ensure you get the right shoes/boots and the right fit. That means you tell me what you want and I'll post it out. If the footwear fits you pay the full invoiced amount, if not you only pay the outgoing postage and return the footwear. Although I will send footwear to almost any where in the world I can only offer this service to UK mainland addresses.

Many of many shoes and boots can be fitted with a rubber grip sole, it is best to ask your local cobbler to do this after you have tried on your footwear to ensure they fit. Alternatively you can buy stick on soles from many local hardwear shops or Supermarkets.

I supply many theatre, TV and film production companies. Please email or call for details.

I now have a Facebook page Here I have all my hand made items with pictures and notes.
